AMA Awards Criteria
AMA Annual Awards are presented at the AMA National Championships each year and are based on performances in the previous calendar year. Each State/Territory member association nominates one person per category:
- Sprints/Hurdles
- Middle Distance/Steeplechase
- Distance
- Walks
- Jumps
- Throws
- Multi Events/Relays
- Most Outstanding Male Athlete
- Most Outstanding Female Athlete
- Most Outstanding Individual Performance
- Administrator/Official/Coach
An athlete may be nominated in more than one category but is limited to winning only one category.
AMA Special Recognition Award
From time to time the AMA Board recognises an outstanding achievement or service with a Special Recognition Award.
